What you’ll do
  • Strategically own client projects from beginning to end as the expert analyst on the team
  • Develop quantitative analysis, dashboards, and ad hoc reporting to demonstrate performance of key business initiatives and define areas for optimization
  • Synthesize complex analytics into compelling top level findings for presentations to senior marketing executives
  • Work with data engineers and solution architects to source new data, resolve system issues that impede data extraction, and design structures which will best support analytical efforts
  • Work with internal and client-marketing teams to define and execute A/B and multivariate tests to optimize the customer experience and maximize customer value
  • Comfortable sharing expertise with other team members and leading new analytical initiatives

Your Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in marketing analytics, with proven success in designing analytical approaches to understand key business behaviors that drive acquisition, retention, and engagement
  • Proficiency in SQL– on the job experience collaborating with architects on table design to support Tableau reporting and ad hoc requests. The bulk of our work is done in SQL.
  • Proficiency in Tableau – on the job experience with creating dynamic Tableau dashboards

Business Development Manager

Data Engineer

The Data Engineer is responsible for the implementation of our client’s data mart and customer analytics platform for their marketing services clients. You will be responsible for the technical definition of migrating customer data to the data mart environment, providing platform, database and infrastructure design and implementation. Working closely with lead Data Architect, you will ensure that the solution satisfies business requirements.

This position requires an in-depth understanding of software/systems analysis, design and performance principles. You must have experience in conceptual analysis, problem solving, data analysis and programming of technical and business information systems. In addition to a software development background, the successful applicant will have proficient experience with ETL based tools and Star Schema data structures.

Key Responsibilities

TECHNICAL SOLUTIONS ARCHITECTURE

  • Perform business requirements analysis necessary to design and construct the technical architecture to support the solution. Technical architecture solutions consist of an operational data store, data warehouse, data marts and associated delivery mechanisms.
  • Define and implement the architectural components including RDBMS, operating system platform, hardware and tools.
  • Develop data requirements, data maps, transformation rules, and aggregation plans. Define strategies for data extraction, hygiene, acquisition, and loading.
  • Work with the client and Data Architect to implement and continually refine data load best practices. Support overall architecture through operational processes. Recommend changes in development, maintenance and system standards based upon best practice experience.
  • Ensure quality implementation by development and execution of detailed plans, delivery of operational best practices.
  • Work with the client technical team on the definition and planning of system implementation and growth forecasting.
  • Define and implement monitoring systems to perform load validation, to update and maintain metadata, and to ensure overall data integrity.
  • Continually improve the capabilities, working with the best of breed solutions to develop and enhance delivery capabilities based on new technology.
  • Collaborate with other data warehouse experts to maintain consistency of architecture and best practices technology.
DATA WAREHOUSING IMPLEMENTATION

Experience and Skills Required
  • 3+ years of working experience with relational databases, SQL, data warehousing and Business Intelligence tools.
  • 3+ years of practical work experience
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • Computer science or a related technical BA/BS required, MBA a plus
  • Implementation experience of star schema data warehousing
  • Database experience with Oracle or MS SQL Server
  • Proficient in the use of database access and connectivity tools (Native, ODBC, JDBC) for both general access and decision support purposes
  • ETL tool experience with tools such as Microsoft SSIS, Informatica, and Oracle Warehouse Builder
  • Reporting and Analytical experience with tools such as Microsoft Analytical and Reporting Services
  • Strong Microsoft Access and Excel skills a plus
  • Nice to have experience with cloud technology such as AWS, Microsoft Azure.

Senior Business Systems Analyst

Customer Portfolios is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst (SBSA) to join our Boston, MA office. In this role, you will have the opportunity to be an integral part of the design and implementation of marketing database solutions for external clients. This position is responsible for acting as a liaison between clients, the Delivery team, Analytics and IT associates. The SBSA captures business requirement documents and provides guidance and technical documentation for all data processing and software solutions. This position also reviews and analyzes database solutions and is an integral part of project design and delivery.

Key Responsibilities
Client On-Boarding and Development:

  • Lead planning, gathering and documentation of business requirements. This will involve both interfacing with clients as well as the development team. Guide peers to best possible solution, utilizing existing processes where possible.
  • Consult with clients and Delivery team to identify current processes, clarify business objectives, and to establish technology requirements.
  • Conduct initial data analysis on input files to verify content.
  • Participate in system/database design or enhancement and communicate results effectively. Collaborate with Technical Lead on data model.
  • Documentation will include: Technical Specs, Business Requirements, Process Flows, Change Requests, and Data Audit Reports.
  • Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on your client’s database. May be called on to answer questions and work on best practices for database builds as well as data usage.
  • Prepare high-level system flow for the proposed solution and review with the Delivery team and client if necessary.
  • Guide clients in business rule development. Implement business rules in database.
Client Operations:
  • Test, maintain, and monitor data and list prep processes for building and maintaining the client database.
  • Perform high level quality assurance on data processing, data loads, reports etc.
  • Support client in UAT process.
  • Assist Project Manager to develop initial project plans and subsequent updates.
  • Work with clients, Delivery team and all related IT departments to achieve solution-oriented results.
  • Analyze client issues.
  • Be proactive with the client guiding them to their next solution.
  • For stabilized customer database implementations, the Business Systems Analyst is responsible for ongoing minor change requests.
Experience and Skills Required
  • 4 to 6 years’ experience in business systems analysis, process improvement, database development, data process engineering, CRM solutions, software development, or master data management.
  • Ability to interface with both external and internal personnel at all levels.
  • Direct marketing or prior experience in implementing marketing database solution a plus.
  • Proven technical, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong project coordination skills and decision making skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to write and use T-SQL, PL/SQL, etc.
